Founder of rightstorygroup, LLC, Jim has devoted a lifetime to crafting stories that educate readers, motivate audiences, protect client reputations and promote brands.

His approach to storytelling is shaped by years of working as a journalist, including a decade at the Chicago Sun Times, where he managed the city’s largest news staff. He then worked with some of the world’s largest public relations firms, including Ogilvy, Hill & Knowlton and Cohn & Wolfe, where he was a senior crisis counselor and media trainer.

Through the years, he has helped clients in healthcare, retail, commercial real estate, tourism, hospitality, technology, consumer products and other industries position their products, tell their stories and protect their brands. Jim has created marketing programs, executive visibility campaigns and worked on product recalls, government inquiries, environmental situations, activist attacks, employment and labor issues, natural disasters, health threats and other crises.


Briggs Adams


A former journalist and long-time communications professional, Briggs helps companies tell stories that strike the right emotional and rational chords with their customers, prospects, investors, employees and other key stakeholders.

As clients and colleagues can confirm, Briggs is a gifted writer who takes pride in meeting – and usually beating – tight project deadlines. A graduate of Indiana University, he worked several years as a reporter and editor at daily newspapers in Kentucky and Texas before joining the staff of Chicago Lawyer magazine, one of the Midwest’s most prominent publications for attorneys.

Since he entered public relations, Briggs has applied the clarity and discipline of journalism to help clients produce communications that have a lasting impact on the audiences that influence their success. He has worked under the tightest deadlines to serve enterprises in technology, consulting, government and several other industries.


Thomas J. Roach, PhD


A long-time communications professional specializing in corporate communication, opinion/marketing research, media strategies and advertising, Tom has worked with some of the Midwest’s largest corporations, providing counsel on internal and external communications.  

He has developed and executed communication campaigns for government agencies, companies in commercial real estate, finance, retail, healthcare, hospitality and other industries. He has also designed and executed several political campaigns.

The author of two books and more than 100 articles about communications, Tom has taught since the mid-1970s. He currently serves as head of the Communications Department at Purdue University Northwest and works on carefully selected client consulting engagements where his experience and unique combination of skills can offer maximum benefit.  

A former journalist, Tom returned to school to complete doctoral work in Communications Studies. He received his doctorate from Northwestern University.


Travis Hunt


A veteran graphic and web designer, Travis knows how to bring ideas to life visually.

He understands the power of visual communication and knows how to create explanatory illustrations and charts that inform, websites that engage and designs that compel.

Travis uses the tools of design and web development to create impactful visual communications for clients in an array of industries. He specializes in explanatory graphics that present complex information in a way that allows even novice audiences to understand the content.

As a result, Travis produces work that literally is worth a thousand words in ways that enable audiences to interact with the information and embrace a client’s messages.

His designs have shaped annual reports, catalogs, brochures, flyers, websites, magazines and other documents.  He has worked with clients in retail, healthcare, hospitality, publishing, real estate and other industries.
